About
Luke Donbavand is an illustrator primarily focusing on narratives and sequential storytelling. Drawing inspiration from nature, mythology and ancient stories, breathing new life into old imagery by using personal and more contemporary contexts.
He uses traditional media such as charcoal, pencil, inks and watercolour to create environments and figures that are full of movement, life and atmosphere. He intends to create a tone in his work which is dark, but romantic and endearing, ultimately connecting to a childhood imagination surrounding themes of adventure.
